2 Corinthians 11:14-15 KJV And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
For Lucifer to exalt himself above the Son of God to diminish His authority would take some bold and strategic moves. From scripture we know that Lucifer has the ability to transform himself into an angel of light from heaven, which he did when he came to tempt Christ in the wilderness. Lucifer pretended that he had a commission from God to tell Jesus to end His fasting and praying. During these temptations, He misquotes scripture, and even asks Jesus to worship him. Then he tells Him that one of the most powerful angels has been banished from heaven and suggests that it looks as though He might be the one. He asks Jesus to prove this to be untrue by using His Divine power to work a miracle. Jesus refuses.
Not only does Satan have the power to appear as an angel of light but also to appear as someone who is dead. Such was the case when Saul visited the witch of Endor and asked to see Samuel, the prophet who had died years before. A man appeared who looked like Samuel and talked like him, but it was not really Samuel. This appearance of Samuel was produced by the power of Satan. Jesus said that the time will come when many would claim that they are Christ and deceive many…Matthew 24:3-5. This is what Satan will do…actually appear as Christ. He will personify Jesus and will present the same wonderful truths in beautiful language, work miracles, and make it look as though He is the divine medical missionary sent by God. Men will fall down and worship him, and those who do not will be commanded to worship him. As the impersonated Christ, Satan will then declare that he personally changed Sabbath to Sunday and that keeping it is a test of loyalty to him.
